I've managed to compose a theme. Not an ordinary theme. It's a theme music from a movie. And it's no ordinary movie. It's Punnagai Mannan. Directer K.Balachander. Hero KamalHassan. Music Illayaraja. An 80's blockbuster movie with superhit songs. It's a movie about a guy who survived upon his suicide with his gf. The girl's family was against their love. After too many fights with the family, they couldn't take it anymore so they decided to commit suicide together. During the jump from the high cliff, he will land on some trees and get stuck there, his gf however hits the x-spot and dies. After that he goes up to continue with his life as a dance instructor. Soon he meets a girl whom later he falls love into and eventually both of them dies tragically. Moral of the story: Don't be a dance instructor after surviving a suicide attempt.
Anyway, my point is to compose the famous theme music from the movie. Many people believe that since the music for the movie is handled by Illayaraja, the theme would be too. But no, it's not. It is actually composed by A.R Rahman. What is A.R Rahman doin in a Illayaraja's movie you ask? Well this is the young A.R Rahman who used to work under Illayaraja as a keyboardist before he came up. He is the one who did this theme music. Anyway I tried to copy his work, and I think I succesfully did it. 90% similarities maybe. Try listening to it, enjoy! Comments are welcomed.
